Difficulties, Technical and Otherwise

Man, I really do not enjoy doing this. As I said in my post explaining why Wednesday’s post was missing, I now have a job. This has been a difficult adjustment as far as the blog is concerned since my work hours don’t leave me a lot of time to put posts together.

That being said, sorry for nothing on Friday, as well as no explanation at that point.

I’m going to do everything I can to ensure that there will be a Surprise Witness this Wednesday, as well as a Fame Day and a Friday post both written by yours truly. Sorry again, everyone, and thank you for understanding. Here is a baseball gif to end things off on a good note.

In This Specific Context You Can Blame the French

So Kat is abroad in la belle province [that’s “the beautiful province” for all you non-Francophones], doing a program that explicitly states that she communicate solely in French. While she is planning to do her Saturday posts first in English before translating them, it has occurred to me that Culture War Correspondence posts probably don’t work all that well. I mean, while I can’t speak for Gordon, I only know so much French [“un petit peu”].

Which left me wondering whether or not to shut down the feature while she stays in Quebec.

Wonderful gif of Shakira’s indecision aside, this post probably tells you all you need to know about the continuation of this feature, for the time being. Gordon and I will be discussing what will take its place, but rest assured that come next Wednesday there’ll be something new hereabouts.

I really wish I had peppered this with more French, but two semesters of college classes will only get you so far. What I can share with you is that in French they don’t say “shut up!”. They say “ta gueule!” which roughly translates to “your gob!” and I think that’s beautiful.

Oh, and stay tuned for my review of Ms. Marvel #6, which goes up as soon as my comic book shop opens and I can grab my copy.

David Goyer is the Worst, And We’re On A Break

So this post could be the logical continuation of my Shame Day post on Akira, which focused on Hollywood’s complete lack of respect for a film they’re looking to remake. David Goyer, a man I already cared very little for as a screenwriter, said some disparaging things about She-Hulk in a podcast [which from my understanding has since been edited somewhat]. He went on, however, to insult comic book fans everywhere, with the words:

“How many people in the audience have heard of Martian Manhunter?”

<pause>

“How many people that raised their hands have ever been laid?”

I could certainly delve into this much more, but Chris Sims over at ComicsAlliance already has, and done so quite well. Check out what he has to say, because he smartly points out that the one who just said these things has a hand in the future of DC’s cinematic universe. I’ll bring everything concerning that terrible man to a close with the following two panels-

Anyway, as the title of this post would suggest, I have some blog news for you all. Continue reading

Moving on up… (i.e. No Post Today)

I beg your forgiveness yet again. I’ve fallen behind in my posts because John and I decided to try to race home in time for Easter. We’ve spent the better part of today getting ready to move up North for the summer. Alas, student life involves living light and moving often… at least if you hope to make any money over the summer.

I wish my house was like Howl’s.

I promise I will be back on top of my regular posts by next week. Have a fantastic long weekend!

Retract, Don’t Do It, When You Want To Go Do It

To the few people who read Gordon’s Fame Day post for today, and for those who may be looking for it,

After speaking with him the two of us decided that the post he wrote was not up to the standards we try to hold the site to as a whole. To absolutely give credit where it’s due he’s had an ungodly amount to do at work, which cut into the time he had to write for the blog.

My post will still be going up tomorrow, and you can expect us to more or less get back to our normal schedule.

That’s all for now,

-Evan.

PS: Here’s a gif of my favourite current Survivor contestant to end things. Woo’s got them ninja skills.

I’m givin’ it all I’ve got cap’n!

Well, I said I would try to survive this semester without taking breaks on my weekly post, but I just don’t think I can keep up. I’m hopefull that after this most evil of weeks (when most of my final papers are due) that I can get back to my regular Saturday posts.

I’m so sorry.
